Advanced Technology

Precision Dentistry

Dr. Chen and her staff are proud to offer patients the very best advanced dental technologies available today and utilize the latest in techniques to enhance the quality and fit for your dental care. Our practice uses high power microscopes to enhance precision and specialty tools that improve accuracy and efficiency.

Dentistry is micro-surgery. Using a microscope similar to the one an ophthalmologist uses enables Dr. Chen to create dental restorations with incredibly precise fit and finish, resulting in limited downtime for most procedures.

While many dentists use less accurate, non-concentricity air-driven “hand-pieces” (the dental term for “drills”), Dr. Chen takes restoration to a new level. For the most precise aspects of restorative procedures, she uses a hybrid electric hand-piece, resulting in extraordinarily precise interfaces between the tooth and the new restoration (crown, veneer, or filling). With a more precise tool, there is less vibration and less noise. This advanced dental tool provides greater accuracy, but it also provides more comfort.

Digital Imaging (X-rays)

Dr. Chen chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken, following the latest guidelines. Radiographs allow our dental professionals to see everything possible with the naked eye, enabling our team to detect cavities in between teeth, determine bone levels, and analyze the health of the mouth structure. The digital images can also reveal the roots and nerves of teeth, allowing more breadth and accuracy of exams, helping to diagnose invisible problems, as well as assess damage from known and unknown trauma.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Dr. Chen utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies to reduce exposure time to roughly 50 percent less than traditional approaches. Digital imaging can also help retrieve valuable diagnostic information, and helps her to see potential tooth decay and cavities more clearly.

Digital X-rays offer more precision since images can be viewed on a high resolution computer monitor, instead of holding up 35 mm film to the light.  And, equally important, digital x-rays result in an 85-percent reduction of radiation exposure to our patients.

Intra-oral Camera

Dr. Chen and her team utilize intra-oral camera technology that helps enhance dental diagnosis and understandings. An intra-oral camera is a very small camera, just a few millimeters long, allowing Dr. Chen and her team to view your teeth and gums with enhanced magnification.  The intra-oral camera offers precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, and contributes to greater accurately in making a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, details are easily seen, but missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

Intra-oral cameras also enable our practice to save your images in your digital chart, and they provide a permanent record of treatments. These images can be emailed to you, other specialists upon your request, our dental lab technician or your insurance company.

New Sonic Technology & Innovative Isolite System

Dr. Chen uses the SonicFill System for her tooth colored filling material.  SonicFill is the most technologically advanced composite filling system on the market today.  The SonicFill system is comprised of a specially designed delivery system and new proprietary composite material that react to sonic energy.  The result is a filling that has extremely precise adaptation to teeth and extraordinary strength.

The Isolite System is an award winning revolutionary technology,  providing a superior dental experience.  This innovative system provides you with:

  • Greater Comfort
  • Unprecedented Safety
